Have you been looking for a fresh, fun workout that doesn’t feel like a traditional workout? Look no further! Zumba is like a hot night out without the lines and the alcohol. Their tag line says it all… “Ditch the Workout and Join the Party!”
In a Zumba class you are going to shake parts of your body that you didn’t even know you had. You’ll leave the dance floor feeling like a new woman. It’s a workout where you’re encouraged to leave your inhibitions at the door and let your hair down. Don’t want to join a class you can order their videos or workout with them via video games.
I personally love myself some Zumba! The hot Latin rhythms will have you shaking your money maker while burning massive calories. With that said, beware… not all classes are created equal. I’ve been in classes where I worked so hard and had so much fun I forgot it was actually Monday morning and not a ” Friday’s Girls Night Out.” On the flip side, I’ve been in classes where I was watching the clock yawning. Like other group fitness classes – Zumba is only as good at the instructor teaching it. Zumba instructors are trained to bring the party and give you every ounce of energy they’ve got, but that isn’t always the case. So, shop around to find which location/classes best fit your workout needs.
Pros:
- You don’t have to be a good dancer to follow along
- The music is fun and upbeat
- It feels more like a party than a workout
- Burns a lot of calories
Cons:
- Not everyone that teaches is a good teacher — the ones that are… Are off the hook!
- If you have exercise A.D.D like me you might get bored if the instructor doesn’t change up her class much.
