Skinny Chocolate Chip Cookies

If you are following Six Weeks to Skinny Jeans this is a Melt only treat.

Since we are using apple sauce in place of a cup of butter the cookies will have a slight cake texture -- but the flavor is the same as a regular cookie. If you want the cookies to be a little more firm you can substitute half the applesauce for butter, but it will dramatically increase the calories.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup white flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup No sugar added applesauce
  • 1/2 cup Splenda
  • 1/2 cup Splenda Brown Sugar Blend
  • 2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 cup Ghirardelli Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 375
  2. Stir dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, salt) set aside
  3. Mix together Splenda, Brown Sugar Splenda and applesauce
  4. Add vanilla and egg whites [add egg whites one at a time mixing slowly].
  5. Stir in chocolate chips
  6. Using a tablespoon drop mixture onto a baking sheet
  7. Bake 9-11 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

If you are following Six Weeks to Skinny Jeans this is a Melt only treat. Remember even though these are a healthier option to a normal chocolate chip cookies the calories will still add up if you eat more than one. Make sure to log your cookie along with your other foods on My Fitness Pal.com
